Monday 1^st March

Service 549 commences operation today, linking Walsall and Wolverhampton via Manor Hospital, Bentley, Wednesfield and New Cross Hospital. This service is already drawing a large amount of interest – click on the links below to view the press releases.

Buses will run every 30 minutes from just before 8am to just after 6pm Monday to Saturday – click HERE to see the timetable, or call Midland on 01902 305181.

Special fares are available on service 549 until 6^th March 2010, with adults paying £1 and children paying 50p for any single journey. From 8^th March 2010, the maximum single fare for adults will be £1.70. English National Concessionary passes are valid for free travel on service 549 after 09:30 Monday to Friday and all day Saturday.

A voucher is also available, giving you the chance to make a single journey on service 549 for only £1. The voucher is valid until the end of March 2010 and is available from the following outlets:

Regular travellers can take advantage of our great value day and weekly tickets. Travel all day on Midland buses for only £2.50 adult or £1.25 child, or travel all week (day of ticket issue plus the following six days) for only £8 adult or £4 child.

Please note: We have had a lot of enquiries about the Pool Hayes Lane section of the route. Due to the lack of bus stops present, we will pick up along this road on a hail and ride basis. Simply indicate to the driver that you wish to board the bus when it approaches.

Friday 26^th February

At 10:30, a ‘dummy run’ of new service 549 will depart Walsall Bus Station (Stand P) for Wolverhampton and then return at 11:22 from Wolverhampton (School Street) back to Walsall. Members of the public are invited to travel for FREE on this journey and can hop on anywhere along the route!

Midland are now operating on service 334 between Bilston and Walsall via Rough Hay and Darlaston. We are operating most of the journeys formerly provided by Sandwell Travel, and we are offering a special deal of only £2 adult for any return journey.
